The Best of the Best Timed Event Rodeo is a competition for high school rodeo athletes competing in the events of calf roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, pole bending, goat tying, and team roping. It is NOW open to 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the 2016-2017 school year.
Best of the Best 2018 will be held June ??-?? in Gallup, New Mexico at Red Rock Arena.
Event payouts are of course based upon actual participation. There is $14,000 in added money guaranteed for the rodeo. 80% of entry fees will be paid out. Payouts are expected for 1st round, 2nd round, short go, and for average winners. In addition, average winners will receive a Martin saddle; reserve average winners will receive a Red Bluff buckle.

What documentation is required for registration?
In order to register for Best of the Best 2018, a contestant must have been enrolled in the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade of the 2016-2017 school year.

You will also need a current Coggin’s and health certificate for each animal upon arrival at the rodeo grounds.

Junior High Incentives are open to any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader in each event. Half of their entry fee will go to the main pot and Half to the incentive pot.
Junior High Kids are eligible to win the main pot and incentive pot both.
High School Kids are not eligible for incentive pot.
Number of monies paid will be determined by the # of entries per event.

Formal sealed bids or proposals are to be submitted by mail or in person to the Purchasing Department prior to opening date and time. All bidders submitting bids or proposals that have assigned bid numbers, titles, and opening times should utilize the return mailing label or mark their envelope with the following information:
(1) Bid Title and Number(2) Opening Date and Time
Late bids or proposals will be returned unopened to the vendor. Sealed bids and proposals are accepted in the Purchasing Office during normal business hours Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
Only Purchasing personnel are authorized to commit the City for purchases in excess of $1000.
